Starting training early is one of the most important investments you can make in your puppy's (and your!) future. Those first weeks and months are a crucial window for learning, building confidence and forming positive habits that last a lifetime. Early training helps your puppy make sense of a world built around human rules and routines, developing good manners and building resilience before unhelpful behaviours have a chance to take hold. With the right guidance from the start you set your puppy up for calm, confident choices and a strong and trusting relationship with you. New Puppy Plan

A new puppy is a huge undertaking and can feel overwhelming. Our New Puppy Plan will help you navigate these early days and weeks (or even pre-puppy) to provide the best possible start for them and your relationship with them. We cover:

  • What is normal for puppy? 

  • Socialisation - what it really means 

  • Puppy body language basics 

  • Toilet training 

  • Exercise and mental stimulation (enrichment) 

  • Avoiding potential unwanted behaviours 

  • Foundation behaviours and basic cues 

The training session will ideally take place in your home and will last around 90 minutes. After the session you will receive a handout via email with tips to help you both succeed. ​Additional training sessions can be booked as required. â€‹

Pricing

The New Puppy Plan costs £80* for the first 90-minute session. 

*Travel expenses will apply to home visits over 5 miles from Bude.

Puppy Consultation

With all the best intentions, things can still go awry and unwanted behaviours can creep in as your puppy develops - this is completely normal. Our puppy consultation service will work with you to understand why this is happening and how to address it using ethical methods. Potential areas for attention include:

  • Mouthing/chewing 

  • Toileting indoors 

  • Jumping up 

  • Pulling on the lead  

The consultation will last for around 90 minutes and after understanding the problem, the remainder of the time will be spent working on practical steps to address the behaviour. After the consultation I will provide a follow up report outlining the next steps in the plan. Additional practical training sessions can be book as required.

The basic puppy consultation starts from £90* for the first 90-minute session.

Practical Puppy Training

Once your puppy has settled into your home, you may find you’d like support with teaching specific behaviours or simply need fresh ideas—and group classes might not be the right fit for you. Individual training sessions offer a flexible, tailored approach that brings structure to your puppy’s learning. We can focus on the behaviours that matter most to you, or work together to decide which foundations to prioritise first. These sessions also work perfectly as follow‑ups to either the New Puppy or Puppy Consultation services. Areas commonly covered include:

  • Foundation behaviours 

  • Recall

  • Loose Lead 

  • Focus around distractions

  • Tricks and games (enrichment)

Each session lasts around one hour and you’ll receive clear, practical handouts afterwards covering the behaviours we worked on.

Practical Puppy Training costs £45* per hour-long session.
