1-TO-1 DOG TRAINING

Whether you have a testing adolescent dog, a new rescue or you just want some structure around training your dog, our various 1-to-1 training sessions could be for you. This service is for dogs of any age who need focused support with everyday skills or specific training and behavioural challenges. Whether you are  working on attention and calmness, recall, loose lead walking or general manners, you will be given clear, practical strategies tailored to your dog's needs and your own goals. 

All of our 1-to-1 dog training packages start with a free 15-minute discovery call to decide on the best approach for you and receive on-going remote support following your session (conditions apply).

1-to-1 Dog Training 

Dogs may require additional training at any stage in their lives for many different reasons. Our 1-to-1 dog training plans are ideal for dogs that may be anxious in a group class setting or for humans wanting a more personalised approach to coaching. Examples of topics covered include:

  • Foundation behaviours 

  • Recall 

  • Loose lead walking 

  • Focus around distractions  

  • Tricks and games (enrichment) 

You will be asked to complete a short questionnaire about your dog's behaviour that we will review together on a 20 minute phone or video call. Following this we will set up a 1-hour practical session tailored to your particular requirements and your dog's current level. You will receive helpful handouts related to the behaviours we are working on after the practical session. Additional practical sessions can be booked on an ad hoc basis as required, either face-to-face or online.

Pricing 

​The first session costs £55*, follow up sessions are £45 per hour. The practical training can be in your home, out in a public space (e.g. on a walk) or in a secure field (as appropriate).

*If a secure field is used, there will be an additional charge. Travel expenses will be added for home visits more than 5 miles from Bude, communicated in advance. 

1-to-1 Dog Consultation

Sometimes you may need a bit of extra support to address unwanted behaviours that your dog has developed, whether the behaviours have just become apparent or if they have developed over a longer period of time. Examples of this type of behaviour are: 

  • Jumping up 

  • Over-excitement in the presence of other dogs or people 

  • Attention-seeking behaviour in different situations 

  • Stealing items 

  • Excessive barking  

  • Destructive behaviour 

You will be asked to complete a detailed questionnaire about your dog, their history and details of the problematic behaviour. We will then go through this together in more detail and discuss potential reasons for the behaviour and initial steps for addressing them. Following this meeting, which may be at your home if appropriate, or online, and will last up to 90 minutes, I will prepare a follow-up report that will include an overview of the situation and  a training plan. Follow-up sessions can be booked on an ad hoc basis as required. 

Pricing 

​Prices start from £90, additional hours are charged at £45 per hour. Travel expenses will be charge for home visits  over 5 miles from Bude, communicated in advance.
